The Dipterocarpus Alatus(Yang Tree) is a large tropical tree that grows 30-40 meters tall, with some specimen reaching up to 50 meters. The thick trunk is covered with rough grayish-brown bark. The tree features simple, elliptical, or lance-shaped leaves, 10-20 centimeters long, which are dark green and glossy. During the dry season, it produces small yellowish-white flowers in clusters at the ends of branches. Its fruit is a flat pod with long wings that aid in seed dispersal, containing round or oval seeds.
