Indian Cork Tree

Millingtonia hortensis

The Indian Cork Tree is a tall, graceful tree, typically reaching heights of 15-25 meters. It's known for its compound leaves and, most notably, its clusters of fragrant, white, trumpet-shaped flowers that release a sweet scent, especially at night. Long, slender seed pods follow the flowering period. Its bark has a light color and a distinctive cork-like texture. Native to Southeast Asia, this tree flourishes in tropical climates and is often planted as an ornamental tree for its beautiful flowers. Additionally, the dried flowers are sometimes used to add fragrance to tobacco.
