Anisoptera costata
The Anisoptera tree (Anisoptera costata Korth.) is a large evergreen, growing up to 40 meters tall. It has a straight trunk with rough, grayish-brown bark that flakes off in thick scales. Its leaves are simple, alternate, and range from oblong to obovate-oblong, with a smooth upper surface and a yellowish-brown, fuzzy underside. It produces clusters of small, fragrant white or yellowish flowers, which develop into unique winged fruits. These fruits are dry, round, and have two long wings and three shorter ones.
