Teng tree

Dipterocarpus tuberculatus

Teng tree is a medium to large-sized deciduous tree, growing approximately 20–30 meters tall. It has a straight trunk with gray to dark gray bark that is deeply fissured along its length. The leaves are simple, oval to elliptical in shape, with smooth or slightly serrated edges. The flowers grow in clusters and have white or pale yellow petals. The fruit has two long wings that help it glide with the wind.

Wood: Strong and durable, used for posts, beams, furniture, or charcoal production. Bark: Used in traditional medicine or for dyeing fabric. Resin: Mixed to make varnish or used for waterproofing boats.
