Tectona grandis
The teak tree is a large deciduous tree, growing up to 30–40 meters tall. It has a straight trunk with gray or brownish-gray bark that is longitudinally fissured. The leaves are very large, ovate in shape with pointed tips, rough texture, and brownish hairs on the underside. The flowers are white or pale purple, arranged in large terminal clusters. The fruit is round, hard, and covered with fine hairs.
Used for furniture, flooring, wall paneling, doors and windows, boats, and wood carving. It is popular both domestically and for export.
